GRANDVIEW NEIGHBORHOOD INFORMATION
GVNA Neighborhood Meetings happen four times a year. Join us to hear guest speakers, discuss neighborhood activities, crime prevention, topics of interest and new community development projects.
Front Yard Friday is a casual get together in the front yard of the volunteer host's home and all neighbors are invited! Come meet your interesting and diverse hosts and many of your neighbors! Bring the family, a chair and a drink, even a snack to share. Name tags and cold water are provided. Come for 15 minutes or stay for an hour or two. Let’s support our neighborhood to be connected and stronger! Watch for the signs and hope to see you there!
Melrose on 7th Avenue Street Fair featuring Chester’s Classic car show happens on the first Saturday in March. Grandview has a vendor booth and collects gift card donations to fill our tree and raffle off as our annual fundraiser. We need volunteers! Mark your calendar and let us know if you are interested in donating or volunteering!
Neighborhood Yard Sale is held annually in the Spring together with other participating Melrose neighborhoods! Grandview places banners and signs on the streets, produces a map of participating sales and reserves a truck to be at Tawa Park to receive your charity donations after the sale is over!
Easter Egg Hunt at Tawa Park is held on the Saturday before Easter. Over 400 eggs are hidden for the littles from ages 1 to 5 and treat bags for kids 6 to 12. Games are held and 2 giant Easter baskets are the prizes!
Halloween Trick or Treat in Tawa Park happens on October 31st, no matter the day it falls on! Visit the park for Halloween fun. We pass out candy and have amazing inflatables for your photo ops with the kids in costumes.
Fall Festival takes place annually in Tawa Park on the second Saturday in November. It is our Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods event. Meat and drinks are provided by the neighborhood and you are encouraged to bring a side dish to share. There are raffles and neighborhood t shirts for sale. Lots of family games, kids fun, dinner, music, tons of free giveaways and door prizes pulled all night. Please make plans to attend, don’t miss out on the fun!
Music & Merriment on 7th Avenue at the Melrose Curve, held on the second Saturday in December. Enjoy 2 stages of live music, 50 local vendors and 4 food trucks. Featuring free Santa photos and a family fun craft area!
**** Note: TAWA Park is located at 11th Avenue & Hazelwood. This is where we host a lot of our neighborhood events.
